Positions available:

Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Will perform repairs and preventative maintenance on the DBI fleet of heavy equipment. This position will also provide road and shop maintenance coordination and assistance on heavy equipment; monitor and schedule routine maintenance; log and maintain industry required record keeping. Work includes maintenance and repair of heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, dozers, articulated trucks, etc., and small equipment such as compressors, generators, welding machines etc., on various projects throughout DBI's operating area. This position will require some travel and is physically demanding. Environmental conditions will play a role as well.


  • At least 1 year work experience in a diesel equipment maintenance field or equivalent education.

  • Must have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, and must be able to work independently, as well as, within a team. 

  • Must be able to be on your feet the majority of the day, and possess the ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently. 

  • Must be able to work overtime and travel.

  • Must be willing to work outdoors.

Heavy Equipment Operator

This position requires advanced level work operating heavy-sized vehicles and construction equipment performing semi-skilled and laborer work. Employees in this class are expected to have advanced skills in the operation of preventative maintenance of a variety of construction vehicles and equipment as well as performed skilled laborer duties. Equipment operated in this class may include a grader, Gradall, track backhoe/excavator, bucket truck, roller, and/or backhoe. In addition, employees perform a variety of skilled tasks in support of a maintenance crew to which they are assigned.

Qualifications: Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities such as: a high school diploma or GED AND three (3) years experience in the operation of heavy-duty automotive and related equipment.


The Construction Laborer performs tasks involving physical labor at building, highway, and heavy construction projects, tunnel and shaft excavations, and demolition sites. The Construction Laborer may operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. The Construction Laborer may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove asbestos, lead, and other hazardous waste materials.
